In a heartbreaking event in the Khukhundoo police jurisdiction of Deoria district, a man reportedly took his own life using a licensed firearm. Authorities disclosed this information on Sunday.
According to police reports, Ravi Shankar Singh, aged 40, shot himself in the bathroom of his home located in Padri Banmali village at around 8 PM on Saturday night.
Upon hearing the gunshot, nearby residents rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, Ravi Shankar had already succumbed to his injuries. The villagers promptly notified the police about the incident. Circle Officer Manoj Kumar and Station Officer Dinesh Kumar Mishra arrived at the site to conduct an investigation.
Circle Officer Manoj Kumar confirmed that a man had committed suicide by shooting himself. The firearm has been seized for further examination. He noted that the weapon is licensed and that forensic teams have collected samples from the scene. The officer mentioned that investigations are ongoing, but the reasons behind this tragic event remain unclear.
